Superhero week. Day 7.

This is it, this is the final day of my Superhero week. Time flies with a blink of an eye and the fact that this was the last day of a super marathon was a surprise for me in the morning.
I felt that I needed a girl, because nothing is complete without a girl.
The daughter of John Zatara, Zatanna is a powerful magician who casts spells by speaking backwards and works as both a stage performer and a member of the Justice League of America.

Zatanna is a superhero and one of the greatest magic-users in the DC Universe.

She is simply stunning. She is magic.
I hope to continue my comic book theme further on. It makes me happier.

Superhero week. Day 6.

UFO, Martians, aliens.. Do they really exist?

Decades ago, J'onn J'onzz was teleported to Earth from Mars and stranded here. Since then he has used his extraordinary abilities to protect and serve the people of Earth.

Centuries ago on the planet Ma'aleca'andra, the Green Martians known as M'yrnn and Sha'sheen gave birth to twin sons. The bearing of twins was uncommon among the Martian culture, and as such, the first of the twins was named J'onn J'onzz, whose name means "Light to the Light."

In his secret identity, to blend into humanity, he is a gritty hard-boiled police officer.

"I am Mars' sole survivor. There is a reason for that."

Superhero week. Day 5.

How many magic words do you know?
SHAZAM! Two syllables famous for magically turning a boy into a superpowered adult.
Unlike most foster children, Billy Batson couldn’t care less about finding a family. He just wants to turn eighteen and finally become an adult. While the boy’s compassionate and kind, he’s gotten used to protecting himself by staying emotionally distant from everybody. But that changes when he meets an ancient wizard who introduces him to one very powerful word.

Just by saying SHAZAM!, Billy is transformed into a magical flying adult superhero, one with the genius of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the unbreakable will of Atlas, the lightning blasts of Zeus, the power of Achilles and the speed of Mercury.

"I like being a hero. "
-- Shazam

Superhero week. Day 4.

Do you believe in fate? Do you think that everyone and everything is here with a purpose? This question bothered me for a while in some period of my life. And I believe there is something pretty close to what people call fate... But many ways to alter the final form of what we become. It is like a roleplay game from Telltale games - Every action and decision you make effects the storyline.

Doctor Fate is a legacy of heroes in the realm of magic who act as agents of the Lords of Order in the battle against chaos, using the powerful Amulet of Anubis, Cloak of Destiny and Helmet of Fate. Kent Nelson was the original, given his powers by Nabu and residing in the Tower of Fate in Salem. He is a powerful sorcerer and agent for the Lords of Order who fights evil alongside his wife Inza.

That golden nail polish is so shiny, the flash from my camera makes it barely clear enough to see,but the helmet turned out great! At least I like it a lot.

"Yours is the mission to bring good to those on Earth who use the ancient magics to do evil! For that purpose, I have taught you what I know. These shall be your garments, Kent Nelson. From this day on, you shall be -- Doctor Fate!"
-- Nabu

Superhero week. Day 3.

Skies. Feathers. And a shiny armor. Hawkman is an exceptional interesting character among superheroes.
He is a winged vigilante who fights crime using a flight harness.
His secret identity is Carter Hall, an archaeologist and museum curator who lives out his destiny as a reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian prince Khufu using magic weaponry.

All incarnations of Hawkman used the fictional "ninth metal" or "Nth metal" to defy gravity and allow them to fly. The metal is in their costume's belt, boots, and wings. Its abilities are controlled mentally. Their wings allow them to control their flight, though they can be "flapped" through use of shoulder motions. In most comic books he is known.

Would you like to have his abilities?

Superhero week. Day 2.

Another day, another superhero. And even though this mister does not have super strength or x-ray vision, he is a very impressive person. And really handsome by the way.
Oliver Queen was a spoiled, thrill-seeking playboy, until he was left stranded on a deserted island for three years. There, he trained to become a master archer in order to survive. Returning home to Star City, he used his skills to fight crime using archery, martial arts and technology.

He is an interesting an inspiring character, who shows that you do not need super speed or flying abilities to be a hero.
This is one of my favorite wallpapers of Green Arrow. Perfection.

"At my core, I wasn't a hero. I was a hunter."

Superhero Week. Day 1.

Ah, and so the Super week begins!
I personally am not a big fan of Superman, but how can it be a super week without a superman himself?! This is why he is the inspiration for a day 1 - the very first.
SUPERMAN, also known as the Man Of Steel is one of the most powerful superheroes in the DC Universe. His abilities include incredible super-strength, super-speed, invulnerability, freezing breath, flight, and heat-vision. Born as Kal-El on the dying planet Krypton, his parents Jor-El and Lara sent him in a rocket to the planet Earth where he would be the last surviving member of his race.
Although he is an alien to this world, he heavily values his humanity, and fights with conviction for truth, justice, and the American way.

"It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then... he shoots fire from the skies and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him."
-- Batman src

So, what do you think about this Kryptonian?

Superhero Week!

I really, reeeaally need superpowers, k?
That is why I am starting a Superhero week on Nail Asylum!
It is about time I go back to my favorite comic book theme and into painting my nails as I should.
I have no idea which characters will I pick for my designs, but they all will be related to comics and every design will be filled with my love and adoration.

So next week, starting on November 18th, I will be posting a superhero nail art marathon.
I needed that, I really did. Stay tuned, or better yet, join me!
This should be fun.

Bright life.

All of us need something bright in their lives. And as much as I do not like neon-ish colors, I really wanted to paint my nails exactly that color.
I didn't had any neon polishes, so I painted one coat of white and two coats of the brightest ( and the cheapest) green I had. I had trouble concentrating on drawing on the nails and, well, concentrating at all lately. So I took nail stickers and decoration that I had bought a long time ago but never used, and simply applied it all on the nails.

A sweet, bright field full of flowers on my nails. Can I go more girly?  But the weirdest thing was that I actually liked how the big flower turned out - all 3D and glittery.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great mood. Always.

Feathery Dream.

I have recently visited Pet Expo 2013!
This is the only exposition that I visit annually for like 5-6 years now. I love every bit of it - all those kittens, puppies, ferrets, birds bunnies, all of them. Coming home with lots of presents for my lovely doggy I had inspiration for a very colorful nail art - feathers! And they are rally easy to draw - just grab a brush and draw tiny strokes in a feather shape. You can mix colors for a more colorful look.

Even though Pet Expo was on last Saturday and I painted my nails on that exact evening, I didn't had time to blog about it... For a number of reasons. But today is the day I share these nails with you!
This time there were more birds and dogs than cats, which is not a bad thing, it is just that I am used to seeing more cats there. But look at those feathery fellas, aren't they cute -

And, umm... The name of this breed made me smile - BASTARDS. It appeared to be a mixture of a canary and any other bird that agrees to.. well, you know.

Loved it.

Everything is OK.

This year really is something.
I had all sorts of emotions - the best ones and, sadly, the worst ones. And it seems like every month is giving me a test, which I will pass, I promise. But I still want this year to end. New year - new life, right?
Well anyways, I was not in the mood for the nails, although I love painting them. That is why I felt like doing something easy and pretty. These nails show exactly how I feel inside - bursting with emotions (hot and cold) covered with the dark color of reality. ( Oh, I am so poetic, lol)
So here they are -

They may not be perfect, but I am OK with all those colors underneath the top coat.
I'm OK with any challenge ahead of me. I am not afraid.

Gold like the sun.

It was never my intention to loose a couple of days, or brake 4 nails on one of my hands. I do not have any memory of that. Maybe it is for the best, maybe for the worst, but after 1st of November I have spent two days lying in bed like a lazy cat and watching True Blood. An episode after an episode. I missed a lot of them so the catching up was a good thing, I guess. I always feel bad for wasting my precious time like this but this time I do not feel like it is wrong.
It was my mother's birthday two days ago and one tiny part of the present were new nail polishes. (As if a nail blogger can skip the opportunity to shop for more nail polishes, right.) And one of them was Maybelline COLO RAMA No 108. I would have never picked a gold-ish nail polish for myself but gold and lavender were the theme colors for the present so I did not hesitate to buy it. And of course my mom let me try it out on my nails later on. She was absolutely in love with it. And as for me... Well it does look really pretty on the nails and the formula is great, it holds up pretty neat... But I just don't like gold. There I said it. Although I enjoy how this shade glows and sparkles on the nails then the light hits it.

I would recommend this polish to anyone who is searching for a gold shade for the nails. I'd really do, because If I preferred gold over other stones, this would be in my top 3 favorite nail polishes.

Hope your weekend was way more productive than mine. Stay positive.
