Miracle Colors.

I have fallen in love with these Flormar nail polishes lately. They have all these Supershine collection polishes that are super shimmery and amazingly long lasting on the nails. But this one... This one just wasn't quite what I was expecting from it.
The previous one from this collection blew my mind with it's beauty. My nails had tiny galaxies on them and I couldn't ask for a better polish. (Click here to see it)
And today's polish is Flormar Supershine Miracle U32.

The formula is great, the polish looked sweet with the firs layer but all those colorful glitters weren't really that noticeable. A lot of people thought that I had a simple dark brown color on my nails and that's sad. It could have been such an amazing nail polish.
I'm will continue using it, but the thing that bothers me the most is the struggle to take it off the nails. Those crazy glitter polishes... It is definitely a love-hate relationship going on with them.
Love it and hate it at the same time.

Lost treasures.

So this morning I woke up wondering if I have any pink polishes left in my small collection. And after throwing out two dried polishes, I stumbled upon this cuteness.
This pink sweetness is one of 4 polishes in a set from Primark. Yes, exactly, Primark. When I saw this set for £2 I bought it in a heartbeat. And I really cant find anything to complain about. The colors are awesome, the formula is great, color looked opaque after the first coat, and the smell. I don't know how to explain, but I was sniffing on the polish for hours... It's weird but yeah, I like it a lot.
Here is what one of the colors look like on the nails -

(Left photo - natural light, right photo - flash.)

If you ever have a chance to get those sets, I'd advise to buy them, at least to try them out. They actually are great for this price. I have not been in Primark for a long time now (sadly), but I believe there are different sets of colors on sale. Mine looked like this -

Every single color is beautiful on the nails.I am glad I bought these back then.
So yeah, today I'm rocking pink.

Shredded gold.

I like glitter on the nails, but I prefer not to buy glitter polishes. And I can explain why - I mean, don't get me wrong, they look stunning on the nails and they stay on without clipping off for a long time ( well, most of them), but how hard it is sometimes to remove it from the nails!? I simply hate the process.
Yesterday I was walking around the store and my look landed on exactly this polish - Maybelline New York COLORAMA stripped nudes. I really liked the other polishes from these series so I have decided to give it a try. I mean, what can go wrong, right?

And I was right, because there is nothing wrong with this polish. On the other hand, I really liked how one coat of this sweetness can significantly improve the look of your manicure.

I went for a very simple look with this polish and my nails were shining as if they had gold powder on them. Top photo was taken indoors in the evening, and the bottom one is taken under natural light.
If you get a chance to buy this nail lacquer, go ahead and do it! I loved it so much! Money well spent.

Try, try try.

My nails were in a pretty bad shape for quite a while now. And as they started to look a little bit more adequate I have decided that it is time to start painting them once again.
And to start off my nail journey of this year, I have decided to go with the simple but cute design.

The nail polish used on these nails is Coral Reef from Avon. And I must say that the color has disappointed me this time. It used to be a really bright orange-ish color, which looked stunning every season. As my old nail polish dried out, I have decided to buy a new bottle of the same color and... Oh Go.
The color was completely different! It was pink-ish and not bright at all. Two coats made it look better but it is still not the same. Well that's a bummer.
Anyways, at least my nails look NEAT!

Twinkle, twinkle... Whatever.

And so far December isn't that bad. I mean, not taking in mind some... things that I cannot control, everything seems pretty good.
I needed something simple. Something pure and pretty. So I guess nude nail polish with glittery half moons on the top are exactly what suits this description.

And I had to go ahead and ruin these perfectly good nails with a cheap-ass top coat nail polish. I ran out of my favorite one and I had no choice but to use the lame one... And it refused to dry. 10 minutes, 20 minutes - still is not dry. This is why the nails look, well, not that good on the picture. And this is why I decided not to do a collage of the pictures. They suck.
They looked so good and now they suck. Learn on my mistakes, ladies - never use cheap top coat.

So I'm going to dive in back to watching Sons of Anarchy. And byte way, have I mentioned that my wedding is the day after tomorrow? No pressure, right.

Everything is OK.

This year really is something.
I had all sorts of emotions - the best ones and, sadly, the worst ones. And it seems like every month is giving me a test, which I will pass, I promise. But I still want this year to end. New year - new life, right?
Well anyways, I was not in the mood for the nails, although I love painting them. That is why I felt like doing something easy and pretty. These nails show exactly how I feel inside - bursting with emotions (hot and cold) covered with the dark color of reality. ( Oh, I am so poetic, lol)
So here they are -

They may not be perfect, but I am OK with all those colors underneath the top coat.
I'm OK with any challenge ahead of me. I am not afraid.

Gold like the sun.

It was never my intention to loose a couple of days, or brake 4 nails on one of my hands. I do not have any memory of that. Maybe it is for the best, maybe for the worst, but after 1st of November I have spent two days lying in bed like a lazy cat and watching True Blood. An episode after an episode. I missed a lot of them so the catching up was a good thing, I guess. I always feel bad for wasting my precious time like this but this time I do not feel like it is wrong.
It was my mother's birthday two days ago and one tiny part of the present were new nail polishes. (As if a nail blogger can skip the opportunity to shop for more nail polishes, right.) And one of them was Maybelline COLO RAMA No 108. I would have never picked a gold-ish nail polish for myself but gold and lavender were the theme colors for the present so I did not hesitate to buy it. And of course my mom let me try it out on my nails later on. She was absolutely in love with it. And as for me... Well it does look really pretty on the nails and the formula is great, it holds up pretty neat... But I just don't like gold. There I said it. Although I enjoy how this shade glows and sparkles on the nails then the light hits it.

I would recommend this polish to anyone who is searching for a gold shade for the nails. I'd really do, because If I preferred gold over other stones, this would be in my top 3 favorite nail polishes.

Hope your weekend was way more productive than mine. Stay positive.

Evil is a point of view.

Ah, at last this day has come. And as much as I love Halloween it doesn't mean that this day will be as awesome as I want  it to be. Once again I get the feeling that I was born in the wrong country.
How can this be? How can stores not have ANY Halloween decoration (one of them actually had Christmas stuff on display. October! Really?!) How can people ignore the fun of this holiday? I have seen only one person dressed up today but she was highly intoxicated so it doesn't count.
Either way, it has never stopped me from having fun... alone... at home.
I have made a special nail design for today, that came to my mind 2 minutes before I was about to do something else. What inspired inspired me were those fake blood capsules which I bought a few weeks ago.

Vampires. This actually took me just a few minutes to make but omg, I love those fangs so much I'm not taking this design off for at least 3 days more.
And they look especially great while playing with fake blood and taking pictures.

Now go trick or treating or simply get comfortable on the couch and watch scary monster movies all night long like a true Halloween fan you are.
Have a great holiday!
Wishing you a Halloween full of moonlight and magic!

I can grant your wish.

I am having so much luck with new nail polishes. On my birthday I told my husband-to-be that I am going shopping. I said - "I am not quite sure of what I want, but I definitely want something." And one of that "something" was this polish right here!

This is a polish from CATRICE COSMETICS No. 07 Genius In The Bottle. It didn't catch my eye at first, when I entered the shop I went straight  to the nail polish bands I  knew but none of them were new and, well, weren't what I was looking for really. And then, passing by a shelf I saw this little shiny bottle. It was the last one of this shade and I grabbed it without even thinking about the price. (luckily, the price was even lower that I thought it would be.)
I did not try it on my nails at once because as soon as I got home my family was already gathered and there was no time to spend on nails. So today was a first official test of this beauty.

You can see all those colors in the bottle, right? Because it was so hard to catch all the color shines on my nails with a camera... I tried my best to capture my nails with different lighting and positions. The polish did not disappoint me, yet at least. It stays on the nails pretty good and throughout the day I didn't have any problems with washing the dishes or taking a bath - it still stayed on the nails. While I was writing this just a slight bit chipped off, but as it is barely noticeable - it is fine with me.
I assumed that the other shades and colors will be as good and unique as this one, but all they had in stock was plain boring and  didn't look like something that is a must  have.

By the way, did you see the birthday present I got? I truly think that she is absolutely gorgeous! Harley from Arkham Asylum was exactly what I wanted... and now I have her! And Scarface as an addition to her.
Could this be  more perfect?

The flight of Apollo.

It was a long time since I fell in love with a nail polish color. But this week I felt that weird feeling of satisfaction again when after a hard day of studies I decided to check out what the stores have on sale. Oh my, how glad am I that I have decided to do that.
Flormar Supershine Miracle U08. It is a duo-chrome nail polish which shines from blue to purple.
It was extremely difficult to capture the beauty of the polish on the nails, but here is a photo of it in the bottle for you to see the it better.

It was the third day of me wearing this polish on my nails when I took these photos, and look how well it stayed on!

I made my pinky finger stand out with red nail polish because, well, I do not like when all the nails look too far simple, even though it is an amazingly pretty (and rather cheap, I must say) polish.

Macbeth Nails.

I wear my Macbeth shoes like every day, if it not freezing outside... Or if it is not melting because of the freaking heat. But even then I wear my Macbeths from time to time.
So where was I.. Oh yeah - NAILS!
I decided that my nails should match my shoes aaaanndd this was a great idea. Honesty like how my nail look like.
What I did to make my nails match the shoes? I took a piece of fishing line, as I usually do, and WRITE WRITE WRITE on my nails! Then added a logo on the thumbs annnd here we are - DONE!

Best shoes! EVER!
Thank you for the inspiration!

Down Alondra

Today is the music-related nail art day again!
But this time I'd like to introduce you to a band called Down Alondra!
I wanted to support them a bit and made a nail design inspired by their new song called EVERYTHING.
It is pretty simple but i really like the result!

I can continue telling you how awesome they are, but you need to hear them to understand it!
for example - here is their music video

I guess this is it for today...
Come back soon for more nail art <3

Adore Box.

I know you are tired of my excuses for not doing nail art as much as I did, but I have one examination week left ahead of me and then I will continue  to create awesome stuff on my nails.
And so one sunny Friday I received a box full of awesome stuff!
The Adore Box  is a regular beauty box but it is only for the Baltic countries... And the company was created only relatively recently so that is why I have never ordered it before. AAANNND to be honest I thought that it would not be as good as any of the American beauty boxes. Don't know why but I just think like that lol
I have ordered a one month subscription, just to try it out at first. It  costed about $20. (9.99LS) by the way. I was pretty impressed with the content of this box! it even had A cute little card that said " For Karina" in Latvian. ( yes, the "ai" in the end of my name kinda means "for".. confusing, I know).

So it had A LOT of things that I really liked like lip balm, mascara, body lotions but the best thing in it was NAIL POLISH.
OH GOD YES.
I really liked the color of the polish but I have not tried it out yet on my nails....
BUT my mom has... and my grandmother.. I guess they have more time than me to spend on nails lol
And here is how it looked on my mom's nails -

The polish is "layla ceramic effectt CE37".

I hope I will have a moment to try it on my nails.  I will tell you how it stays on the nails later.. when my mother tells me how she liked it. :)
Well, I guess it is all for today.
Back to preparing for Personnel Management exam tomorrow.
Come back soon <3

Sally hansen salon effects nail polish strips.

Hey there! It's a lazy nail art day today, because I've decided to cheat and use sally hansen salon effects nail polish strips.
I got these as a surprise present from Emmi - emmymadeinjapan and from the moment I tried them on my nails - I loved them!
These are called Heartbreaker. And the pattern.. I mean how did she know? It is a perfect choice for me!! <3
anyways I didn't want to use them ALL AT ONCE. because I'm cheap like that lol.  That is why I have decided to do the nails like this -

A little Harvey dent look. lol get it? two face? two different sides in the nail?
Anyways I was really lucky to be able to use one strip for two nails. Because my nails are so short right now :( But is doesn't matter. Still like it.

Here is the video by the way!

Hope you enjoy watching it and thank you for reading! <3

Magic Purple/Sky Blue Color Changing Nail Polish.

Hello my dear readers!
This week I want to make a special post dedicated to one single nail polish that I fell in love with from the moment I've tried it on my nails.

I'm going to write about Magic Purple/Sky Blue Color Changing Mood Nail Polish from www.bornprettystore.com !

In case you are not sure what does the "color changing" part means, imagine mood rings that were popular back in the day.
This nail polish has the same effect as the rings - when applied on nails, it changes color based on the temperature.
In this case it becomes sky blue when your hands are warm, and purple when your hands are cold!

To start with, I'd like to say that the shipping was absolutely free worldwide and it took a week or two to receive the package. So it's fast, easy and free which is a big plus.
I received this in the morning.
And the first thing I did was trying it on my nails! And to be completely honest - it did look awesome but it started to peel off pretty quick, I assumed that it was because I didn't use the top coat (I was in a hurry) and I was right about that. So if you want this polish to last longer - use top coat. It works absolutely fine with it.

To show you how this amazing nail polish works I have prepared two glasses with hot (warm) and cold water.

I'd like to mention as well that the polish applies smooth and evenly. It is not chunky and does not have any odor that you might not like.
By the way, I found out that it takes a bit longer to dry if you use a base coat. I tried it with, or without base coat and I prefer to apply it without the base. It does not leave any stains on your nails (like red or green polishes do) so it's safe to use directly on nails.
I applied only one layer of the polish, simply because it was enough, but you can always make a second layer if you want to.

As my hands were cold (as they usually are) it turned purple as soon as it was dry.
In the picture it looks a bit like a lavender color, but it is actually a bit brighter purple.

When dipping my finger into the warm water, the polish turned sky blue, which I really liked!

And it turned purple in the cold water.

Here you can see the difference in colors and how pretty both of them look together or separately. And as my hands were cold the blue one started to change colors and was gradient for a while.( from purple to blue)
As it is cold outside, my nails looked awesome because the tips of the nails were cold and purple but the rest of the nail was blue and constantly changing. I mean like - wow. I liked this polish so much that I'd wear it every day for the rest of the autumn.

Here is a link to this product, if you would like to try it out -

Justice League Silhouettes Nail Art

This week it will be simple as it can be. Justice League Silhouettes Nail Art. I think that the white background looks the best with the black figures, but it really does not matter at all.
It was not easy to make actually, I've been trying to make it look good several times and this is how the result looks like:
I've used a mechanical pencil to draw the silhouettes, but if you want to try this design, it is better to use  needle or a toothpick.
When making the logos on them, you can try white acrylic paint, just beacause sometimes it is easier to apply making thin details. And also, if it came out too thick , you can always fix it using black polish and a toothpick.
