Miracle Colors.

I have fallen in love with these Flormar nail polishes lately. They have all these Supershine collection polishes that are super shimmery and amazingly long lasting on the nails. But this one... This one just wasn't quite what I was expecting from it.
The previous one from this collection blew my mind with it's beauty. My nails had tiny galaxies on them and I couldn't ask for a better polish. (Click here to see it)
And today's polish is Flormar Supershine Miracle U32.

The formula is great, the polish looked sweet with the firs layer but all those colorful glitters weren't really that noticeable. A lot of people thought that I had a simple dark brown color on my nails and that's sad. It could have been such an amazing nail polish.
I'm will continue using it, but the thing that bothers me the most is the struggle to take it off the nails. Those crazy glitter polishes... It is definitely a love-hate relationship going on with them.
Love it and hate it at the same time.

So yeah.

Do you like yellow color? It used to be my favorite when I was a kid, but now it is one of the color that appeals to me the least. But there are days (like yesterday) when I desperately want yellow nails. and while not having a design in mind I just went with it and basically, here is what I came up with -

The nail design is one day old in this photo, simply because I could not take a photo of it in a proper light and conditions. You can see the bubbles on the yellow polish - these appeared right after I went to wash the dishes right after doing my nails and the nail polish is a very cheap one. I do not even know the brand, I just bought it from a random sales person on the town square. He had a bunch of polishes for sale and I felt like buying my first yellow nail polish, just to try it out.
 So yeah, here they are.

Crestfallen.

I have been trying to do something interesting on my nails for two days straight, but I guess it was one of those days when nothing goes well. I am struggling with sneezing and trying to do my best at everything and all I get in the end is a tip from the universe tat says "NOT TODAY".
I hate these days. FML.
But enough about me, let's talk about nails.
As I was failing again and again this time, I realized that I cannot leave my nails just with a single color. At least if it is not a holographic one or something. So red/black gradient was the answer.

I actually am OK with these nails. Anyways it is better than nothing.
The glittery red is MAYBELLINE nail polish (Pardon moi, for being lazy to go and check out the exact number on the bottle) and the black one is Avon "licorice ".
I don't know. I like it.

This life.

"Riding through this world all alone
God takes your soul, you’re on your own
The crow flies straight, a perfect line
On the Devil’s Bed until you die." (c)

Ah, the Sons Of Anarchy. I absolutely love this show. Tough biker guys in leather, what can be hotter than that?! I was thinning of doing this nail art for a very long time, but it is only now that I had the time to do it properly.

Perfection on the nails right there! And it does not take too long to draw, but it requires patience for the font though. But it was worth every minute of the process.
You go ahead and check out the show if you still haven't because I simply fell in love with it.

Not much to say. I simply love this design and I think I'll stick with it for quite a while.

Try, try try.

My nails were in a pretty bad shape for quite a while now. And as they started to look a little bit more adequate I have decided that it is time to start painting them once again.
And to start off my nail journey of this year, I have decided to go with the simple but cute design.

The nail polish used on these nails is Coral Reef from Avon. And I must say that the color has disappointed me this time. It used to be a really bright orange-ish color, which looked stunning every season. As my old nail polish dried out, I have decided to buy a new bottle of the same color and... Oh Go.
The color was completely different! It was pink-ish and not bright at all. Two coats made it look better but it is still not the same. Well that's a bummer.
Anyways, at least my nails look NEAT!

Standalone.

Yeah, I know, I've done it again. But what can I say, I guess the disappearing act is my favorite this year. I guess you have to forgive me for that. Or not. It's totally up to you.
So here I am back here, all ready to get in a good mood, but I can't. I cannot make myself smile while I live here. OK that is not your problem, I get it. You are here for the nails. SO here you go then - DAYZ STANDALONE nail art! YUP! Exactly! As the Alpha is out already my husband spends all his free time playing it... back in his parent's house... because he cannot stand the hate in my parent's house. As do I. But he can do something with it... and I can't. Not now at least.

I bet you expected something Christmas-ish, happy, joyful for a nail art? Nope. Not from me. I had my Christmas... AWAY FROM MY FAMILY. and as  am back here, I do not feel like being all smiling and all. Zombies - best choice for the holiday season!
Love you.

Twinkle, twinkle... Whatever.

And so far December isn't that bad. I mean, not taking in mind some... things that I cannot control, everything seems pretty good.
I needed something simple. Something pure and pretty. So I guess nude nail polish with glittery half moons on the top are exactly what suits this description.

And I had to go ahead and ruin these perfectly good nails with a cheap-ass top coat nail polish. I ran out of my favorite one and I had no choice but to use the lame one... And it refused to dry. 10 minutes, 20 minutes - still is not dry. This is why the nails look, well, not that good on the picture. And this is why I decided not to do a collage of the pictures. They suck.
They looked so good and now they suck. Learn on my mistakes, ladies - never use cheap top coat.

So I'm going to dive in back to watching Sons of Anarchy. And byte way, have I mentioned that my wedding is the day after tomorrow? No pressure, right.

It's that simple.

I know that every nail blogger out there did this design on their nails. Either for comic con, or any other occasion, but I felt like I am lacking this design on my blog.
So here it is, nothing outstanding, nor original, but does it really matter though?

Different colors on different hands because I had a difficult time choosing one fro the background.
Just give me snow already! I'm sad seeing December without it.

Back to December.

The lack of snow outside really brings down the whole winter-ish mood you know. That is why I have decided to get myself my personal snowflakes... On my nails.
Nothing better than a baby blue background and sparkly top coat couldn't do to fix my mood.

December promised to be a better time, promised to be special... Hope it'll keep the promise.

Superhero week. Day 7.

This is it, this is the final day of my Superhero week. Time flies with a blink of an eye and the fact that this was the last day of a super marathon was a surprise for me in the morning.
I felt that I needed a girl, because nothing is complete without a girl.
The daughter of John Zatara, Zatanna is a powerful magician who casts spells by speaking backwards and works as both a stage performer and a member of the Justice League of America.

Zatanna is a superhero and one of the greatest magic-users in the DC Universe.

She is simply stunning. She is magic.
I hope to continue my comic book theme further on. It makes me happier.

Superhero week. Day 5.

How many magic words do you know?
SHAZAM! Two syllables famous for magically turning a boy into a superpowered adult.
Unlike most foster children, Billy Batson couldn’t care less about finding a family. He just wants to turn eighteen and finally become an adult. While the boy’s compassionate and kind, he’s gotten used to protecting himself by staying emotionally distant from everybody. But that changes when he meets an ancient wizard who introduces him to one very powerful word.

Just by saying SHAZAM!, Billy is transformed into a magical flying adult superhero, one with the genius of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the unbreakable will of Atlas, the lightning blasts of Zeus, the power of Achilles and the speed of Mercury.

"I like being a hero. "
-- Shazam

Superhero week. Day 4.

Do you believe in fate? Do you think that everyone and everything is here with a purpose? This question bothered me for a while in some period of my life. And I believe there is something pretty close to what people call fate... But many ways to alter the final form of what we become. It is like a roleplay game from Telltale games - Every action and decision you make effects the storyline.

Doctor Fate is a legacy of heroes in the realm of magic who act as agents of the Lords of Order in the battle against chaos, using the powerful Amulet of Anubis, Cloak of Destiny and Helmet of Fate. Kent Nelson was the original, given his powers by Nabu and residing in the Tower of Fate in Salem. He is a powerful sorcerer and agent for the Lords of Order who fights evil alongside his wife Inza.

That golden nail polish is so shiny, the flash from my camera makes it barely clear enough to see,but the helmet turned out great! At least I like it a lot.

"Yours is the mission to bring good to those on Earth who use the ancient magics to do evil! For that purpose, I have taught you what I know. These shall be your garments, Kent Nelson. From this day on, you shall be -- Doctor Fate!"
-- Nabu

Superhero week. Day 3.

Skies. Feathers. And a shiny armor. Hawkman is an exceptional interesting character among superheroes.
He is a winged vigilante who fights crime using a flight harness.
His secret identity is Carter Hall, an archaeologist and museum curator who lives out his destiny as a reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian prince Khufu using magic weaponry.

All incarnations of Hawkman used the fictional "ninth metal" or "Nth metal" to defy gravity and allow them to fly. The metal is in their costume's belt, boots, and wings. Its abilities are controlled mentally. Their wings allow them to control their flight, though they can be "flapped" through use of shoulder motions. In most comic books he is known.

Would you like to have his abilities?

Superhero Week!

I really, reeeaally need superpowers, k?
That is why I am starting a Superhero week on Nail Asylum!
It is about time I go back to my favorite comic book theme and into painting my nails as I should.
I have no idea which characters will I pick for my designs, but they all will be related to comics and every design will be filled with my love and adoration.

So next week, starting on November 18th, I will be posting a superhero nail art marathon.
I needed that, I really did. Stay tuned, or better yet, join me!
This should be fun.

Bright life.

All of us need something bright in their lives. And as much as I do not like neon-ish colors, I really wanted to paint my nails exactly that color.
I didn't had any neon polishes, so I painted one coat of white and two coats of the brightest ( and the cheapest) green I had. I had trouble concentrating on drawing on the nails and, well, concentrating at all lately. So I took nail stickers and decoration that I had bought a long time ago but never used, and simply applied it all on the nails.

A sweet, bright field full of flowers on my nails. Can I go more girly?  But the weirdest thing was that I actually liked how the big flower turned out - all 3D and glittery.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great mood. Always.

Feathery Dream.

I have recently visited Pet Expo 2013!
This is the only exposition that I visit annually for like 5-6 years now. I love every bit of it - all those kittens, puppies, ferrets, birds bunnies, all of them. Coming home with lots of presents for my lovely doggy I had inspiration for a very colorful nail art - feathers! And they are rally easy to draw - just grab a brush and draw tiny strokes in a feather shape. You can mix colors for a more colorful look.

Even though Pet Expo was on last Saturday and I painted my nails on that exact evening, I didn't had time to blog about it... For a number of reasons. But today is the day I share these nails with you!
This time there were more birds and dogs than cats, which is not a bad thing, it is just that I am used to seeing more cats there. But look at those feathery fellas, aren't they cute -

And, umm... The name of this breed made me smile - BASTARDS. It appeared to be a mixture of a canary and any other bird that agrees to.. well, you know.

Loved it.

Colder than my heart, if you can imagine.

Oh autumn. With all the rainy days and dying nature my life becomes better. It is weird but it is how it is. I am always waiting for this season to come like a kid is waiting for a present. And let it rain, I don't care. I used to hate it when it rains - my hair gets curly and whatnot; but as I get older I like this weather so much more.
But even though I like it a lot it doesn't mean that I am walking around all happy and joyful; It is just the way I feel inside, deep down in my cold heart.
I have decided to make a rain on a concrete look to my nails and did it super quick. All you need for it is to take a matte nail polish of your choice (grey cement from AVON was mine) and add the drops of a top coat on it.

I liked it a lot. too bad it chipped off on the next day but hey, doesn't make it bad, right? At least for a day it looked great.

I can grant your wish.

I am having so much luck with new nail polishes. On my birthday I told my husband-to-be that I am going shopping. I said - "I am not quite sure of what I want, but I definitely want something." And one of that "something" was this polish right here!

This is a polish from CATRICE COSMETICS No. 07 Genius In The Bottle. It didn't catch my eye at first, when I entered the shop I went straight  to the nail polish bands I  knew but none of them were new and, well, weren't what I was looking for really. And then, passing by a shelf I saw this little shiny bottle. It was the last one of this shade and I grabbed it without even thinking about the price. (luckily, the price was even lower that I thought it would be.)
I did not try it on my nails at once because as soon as I got home my family was already gathered and there was no time to spend on nails. So today was a first official test of this beauty.

You can see all those colors in the bottle, right? Because it was so hard to catch all the color shines on my nails with a camera... I tried my best to capture my nails with different lighting and positions. The polish did not disappoint me, yet at least. It stays on the nails pretty good and throughout the day I didn't have any problems with washing the dishes or taking a bath - it still stayed on the nails. While I was writing this just a slight bit chipped off, but as it is barely noticeable - it is fine with me.
I assumed that the other shades and colors will be as good and unique as this one, but all they had in stock was plain boring and  didn't look like something that is a must  have.

By the way, did you see the birthday present I got? I truly think that she is absolutely gorgeous! Harley from Arkham Asylum was exactly what I wanted... and now I have her! And Scarface as an addition to her.
Could this be  more perfect?

The flight of Apollo.

It was a long time since I fell in love with a nail polish color. But this week I felt that weird feeling of satisfaction again when after a hard day of studies I decided to check out what the stores have on sale. Oh my, how glad am I that I have decided to do that.
Flormar Supershine Miracle U08. It is a duo-chrome nail polish which shines from blue to purple.
It was extremely difficult to capture the beauty of the polish on the nails, but here is a photo of it in the bottle for you to see the it better.

It was the third day of me wearing this polish on my nails when I took these photos, and look how well it stayed on!

I made my pinky finger stand out with red nail polish because, well, I do not like when all the nails look too far simple, even though it is an amazingly pretty (and rather cheap, I must say) polish.

You are the one that I adore.

I am feeling inspired this week. Feeling, like something good awaits right around the corner. ( Maybe it has something to do with my upcoming birthday? Nah, I don't think so.) I started listening to a little bit different music, (like The Smashing Pumpkins) I am adding colors to my everyday makeup. I guess Autumn really does inspire me. Hope it will not end soon, I really want it to last longer. Picking up the colorful leafs that fell from the trees and feeling great even during the rain. Loving it.
I am feeling so calm, therefore I did a very sweet very romantic design on my nails. Well, maybe calling it a design is wrong ... But hey, tiny little hearts make it something more than just white nails, right?

You have to excuse me for a weak quality of the photos this time. I had to take them not using flash and i guess there wasn't enough light. Enjoy the rest of the day and be inspired <3

Love,
K
